At twilight on the southern coast we encounter, at guitar and piano, a lone veteran of art rock and experimental sound, his tale winding backward to Slapp Happy and the days when prog dinosaurs roamed the earth. In séance with AKA & Friends’ atmospheric accompaniment, he breathes the infernal and the eternal back into his work of decades, the songs winding Anthony’s avant/pop traditions into a darkly radiant coil of folky chamber music for the ages.
