Formed in Athens, Greece, in January 2011, ACHELOUS were forging their craft until the end of 2014, when they entered The Music House Studio and recorded the first EP entitled “The Cold Winds Of Olympusâ€. The EP was released in February of 2015 and got very positive reviews giving the band the opportunity to promote it by performing live locally. • In 2018, the band finished the recordings of the first full-length album entitled "Macedon" and it was released in September of 2018 receiving excellent reviews from fans and media. Following the album's release, ACHELOUS performed in various festivals, sharing the stage with bands like DEMON, ANCIENT RITES and ATLANTEAN KODEX, among others. A few more live shows followed, establishing ACHELOUS as a powerful live metal act. • The "Northern Winds" EP of 2021 was a sample of what would follow, since the same-titled track will be included in the new album "The Icewind Chronicles" that is a combination of thunderous and straight-forward epic heavy metal with atmospheric passages that create a sound bringing in mind elements from bands such as BATTLEROAR, IRONSWORD, even BATHORY. The atmosphere and the melodic parts alongside the lyrics that are based on R.A.
