WIPES return on their second full length with a renewed vigor and refreshed lineup to further their sludgy noise rock. Through a dozen tracks they lay down everything from slow-motion face melters, to fast-paced Nirvana-esque sloppy chunks of punk, into machine-like repetitious heavy droning, and even tipping their hat to surreal early Weezer-inspired pop sludge. All the while they keep it heavy and grimey, just the way you like it.
Over the last two years since their debut full length Wipes kept busy with another EP, several comp appearances, as well as a short tour of the Northwest US. Over the last 6 months they regrouped and began writing at a furious pace into what is now “Don’t Tell My Parents”. Despite having shifted into a new lineup the songwriting flowed effortlessly and remains true to the sound Wipes have been messing with since forming.
Once they had more songs than they knew what to do with they took the collected work and recorded it with long time friend and engineering pro Jared Stimpfl (Chat Pile, Tile, Jesus Piece, Secret Cutter) at Captured Recording Studio. With this new collection of songs the band intend to remain busy, spreading their ear-bleeding noise rock sludge to their PA home and beyond.
