Before It Might Be Gone is a raw and honest self-reflection of someone who never really looked in the mirror for long enough. It’s a journey of change, and it contains all the aspects that come along with it. How to come to grips with who you’ve been and finding out who you want to be. Change can bring feelings of hope and happiness, but to get there you might need to face yourself, seeing the ugly and dark sides, the sides you ignored before. The Vices have always questioned things, but where on previous albums questions and personal opinions were more about the happenings in the world outside oneself, on Before It Might Be Gone they are now related to one's personal problems. But one's personal problems do relate to the rest of this sometimes incomprehensible world. There is a social pressure to always be better and do good. And if you do wrong, well then you’re done. But what is good and what is bad? What is true forgiveness? And doesn’t anybody deserve more than one chance? Is there any value in mass/public opinion? Or should you care about your own and the opinions of those closest to you? In the end it leads to a shifting perspective on how to live a life. You need to feel the bad in order to be able to see the road to the good again. The Vices needed to do that. They did it on this album. Just in time, Before It Might Be Gone.
