Rad Girlfriend Records and Sell the Heart Records team up to release a new split 7″ from Dayton, Ohio's The Raging Nathans and Brooklyn, New York's Fat Heaven, pairing two bands with their own unique approaches to modern punk rock. The Raging Nathans continue their prolific onslaught of releases with two new songs that stick to what they do best: concise, aggressive punk rock built around sharp lyrics, melody and personal darkness. Each track clocks in at around a minute and a half, capturing the band's energy in angsty outburst. The songs were recorded by Micah Carli (Hawthorne Heights) and mixed by Chris Dugan (Green Day, Weezer), whose combined work gives the recordings a clear, booming and direct sound while maintaining the bands persistence in staying rough edges. It's another entry in the band's long-running catalog that reinforces their consistency and work ethic. On the other side, Fat Heaven brings a melodic pop-punk approach shaped by hooks, catchy guitar riffs , and straightforward songwriting. Based in Brooklyn, the band pulls from classic punk rock traditions while keeping things current, balancing energy with strong choruses and clean melodic lines. Their songs on this split highlight that balance, offering a contrast to The Raging Nathans' grittier style.The result is a split that works as a snapshot of two bands from different scenes and regions, each leaning into their strengths.
