The Dahmers Demons (Red/Black)
Reissue of Demons, the now classic debut album from Sweden's favorite horror-rockers The Dahmers, originally released in 2014. In a tornado of influences like garage punk, classic rock and 60's pop this band truly is a Frankensteins monster of music. This is a band who's going their own way with colorful contrasts and still keeping the main essence of what they are all about. With their catchy tunes that gets stuck to your brain like a leech The Dahmers sucks you in to their music and to a world filled with darkness. Their lyrics and aesthetics have a big inspiration from classic horror movies but you also find emotional exposures about frustration, solitude and alienation amongst other things in their songs. On Demons, over the course of 11 horror storys told by the Dahmers, the band takes the primitive energy of punk and mix it with Thin Lizzy guitars that strike like lightning. Add melodies that will stay in your head like a leech to your eye and lyrics that would make Dario Argento and George Romeros work sound like bedtime stories. Now your starting to understand what The Dahmers is all about, an ambitious band thats not afraid to throw all of their influences into the mix. Demons was recorded between 2012-2013 in Last house on the left and Christoffers crypt by band member Christoffer Karlsson. Artwork is made by band member Karl-Oskar Hansson and Pär Johansson. The band comments: Our debut album was recorded by us in a cluttered garage in Bromölla in true DIY spirit in 2014. Christoffer Karlsson (Vocals/Guitar) recorded and mixed the album. We are driven by a great creative joy, which permeates both the song material and the recording process. The record was mastered in the studio Music a matic by Henryk Lipp. The cover was drawn by Karl-Oskar Hansson (Drums) and designed by Pär Johansson. The cover is a nod to Status Quo's album Quo which was an early inspiration for us.
