After parting ways with Memphis soul powerhouse Hi Records in 1979, Syl Johnson reanimated his dormant Shama imprint for another run at the charts. “Disco came in, my repertoire went down, down, down," Syl recalled. A string of tepid blues numbers followed, but by the end of the decade he'd found a new stroke: boogie. 1988's Foxy Brown album arrived to little fanfare, and nearly forty years later is a tough pull even its native Chicago. This shrinkflation reissue combines the title track and the album opener "Tripping On Your Love" for club use on the inconvenient 7" format, housed in a full colour sleeve to keep the trainspotters guessing.
