1980s punk band reunited in 2023 performing their debut album "Condition Red" in their hometown of New Orleans at Titpitina's
During their heyday, The Red Rockers were often referred to as "America's answer to The Clash." In 1981, they released their debut album, "Condition Red" with the legendary San Francisco punk/new wave label, 415 Records. In 1982, they moved onto Columbia Records with the breakthrough album, "Good as Gold," and had an alternative/new wave radio hit with the song, "China." They recorded one other studio album before disbanding in 1985. In 2023, the band reunited in their hometown of New Orleans at the legendary club Tipitina's for a performance of "Condition Red" in its entirety. The set included other songs from the band's career along with some blistering versions of Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues," The Who's "My Generation," and The Clash's classic anthem, "I'm So Bored With The U.S.A." Despite the passage of time, the band really captured the fire and passion of that first record. You can hear it in every note of this recording. The release is available on translucent red vinyl, CD and Blu-ray video.
