Ottone Pesante Apocalips
the band formed in Faenza, Italy in 2015 and shortly after released their first self titled EP. One year later the first full length album titled Brassphemy set in stone sees the light, supported by hundreds of shows all over the world. Ottone Pesante (Heavy Brass) is a unique and incredible band: trumpet, trombone and drums playing metal, making a step beyond the traditional idea of Extreme Metal, based on the classic sound of Bass and Guitar. Apocalips is the second Full length album, self-released by the band in late 2018. In these 9 new tracks, the connections with Metal are stronger and, at the same time, there are influences from others musical worlds like contemporary music, experimental, doom, jazzcore. The sound is raw and heavier, due to the sound experimentation of the brasses while Beppe Mondini's drum is still really heavy. Apocalips is filled with fast, melodic, technical and furious tracks that are already become a trademark of Ottone Pesante, but also really slow parts full of pathos, and more experimental and dodecaphonic tunes, with orchestral / progressive parts and even references to Black Metal. The connections with Extreme Metal scene, comes out due to the collaboration with Travis Ryan (Cattle Decapitation singer, cult Death Metal band from California) that makes track number 5 The Fifth Trumpet, a real Apocalypse. Now Ottone Pesante got signed with Aural Music and are working on the third full length album scheduled for April 2020, to prepare the ground the Label decided to take over official distribution of their previous works spreading their unique Heavy Brass Metal to a wider audience.
