Vinyl LP pressing. Austin, Texas' NANÉ (Nah-Nay) are excited to announce the release of their self-titled debut album. The LP was produced by GRAMMY-award winning drummer John Speice IV (Grupo Fantasma, Brownout, Golden Dawn Arkestra), engineered by Adrian Quesada of the GRAMMY-nominated Black Pumas and mastered by Erik Wofford (Explosions In the Sky, My Morning Jacket, Bill Callahan). The set was also mixed by Quesada outside of the band's Blue Velvet single which was mixed by Chris Frenchie Smith (The Front Bottoms,... And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead). News of the debut LP comes with NANÉ's latest infectious single Clementine Tree, which is out today with the seductive music video shot live at Estuary in Austin. The song and the video are anchored by the emotive and powerful performance from charismatic frontman Daniel Sahad. It was Sahad's unbridled performance in NANÉ's video for Blue Velvet that earned the group a slot as one of Brittany Howard's five Top Shelf Pick's in this year's NPR Tiny Desk Contest. The single was released on July 31st - earning them a KCRW Pan Caliente feature by José Galván who commented, I came across their first single, 'Always On My Mind,' during quarantine and the exuberance and fierceness of the vocals along with the rock-soul riffs of the guitar provided warmth and catharsis. The striking cover art for album was designed by the same folks that created the Blue Velvet cover - renowned Austin creative agency Preacher (Black Pumas, Leon Bridges, Hamilton Leithauser). The cover has a Caribbean art deco feel, which ties in nicely to Sahad's Dominican roots. An offspring of globalism, Daniel is a first generation American who comes from a lineage of courageous individuals who broke barriers to pursue their dreams. He knew early on that he had to continue his family legacy, weaponizing his voice to blaze his own path guided by love and empathy.
