The new program is dedicated to the trio's concert tours across the globe in recent years. Like the wind, the Moritz Weiß Klezmer Trio combines this wealth of impressions with its own stylistic approaches between klezmer, jazz and pop, creating an impressive overall view with 13 new pieces of music on the new album. However, since there are not only wonderful musicians in the big wide world, but also in the trio's home country, the three gentlemen from Austria have brought one of the best on board as a special guest on the new album: Simon Reithofer on the gypsy guitar, who once again underlines the instrumental lyricism of the album with his soulful expression.
When the lively trio from Styria plays, sparks fly. With clarinet, guitar and double bass, they create sound spaces that invite you to marvel, energize you to dance or touch your soul with sensuality. For almost ten years, the virtuoso trio has been roaming the world. Once rooted in the diverse world of klezmer, today their own compositions are the main focus. The fascinating tonal language of the Yiddish wedding musicians is always a stylistic element in their hand luggage, and it is the three personalities of the trio who, with their individual approaches, make the music of the young trio a real firework.
This musical fireworks display not only earned the Moritz Weiß Klezmer Trio the 2020 Styrian State Culture Prize, but also took them halfway around the world. With concerts on national and international stages and festivals, they have thrilled audiences in over 20 countries.
