Bio:
Canada’s progressive metal band INTO ETERNITY “a band that has so thoroughly crossbred the disparate extremes of brutality and melody… in whose music heavy metals potential is born anew,” (Metal Maniacs) unveil their 2006 release, “The Scattering Of Ashes”. Prose to pain and suffering, INTO ETERNITY present 11 odes of pure lyrical agony combined with a melodic thrash assault. Consuming grief accompanies the transition from life to memory, corporeal to spectre. Through death the child learns that the future is the seed that lies within, his past its rich and nurturing soil. The cutter learns his intense physical pain relieves spiritual anguish. Fear paralyzes, the individual fails to express, fails to act. Taking new vocalist Stu Block’s dynamic talent and incorporating it in the band’s rich progressive arrangements, INTO ETERNITY’s “The Scattering Of Ashes” is able to usurp 2004’s awe-inspiring “Buried In Oblivion” (about which Germany’s Rock Hard exclaimed, “Most likely there won’t be a better metal album this year.”). Block’s voice soars where Roth’s guitars have only dared, like professional athletes constantly challenging one another’s abilities. Recording dynamo Andy Sneap (Nevermore, Killswitch Engage), who mixed and mastered the album, allows the band’s strength to pour forth, a crushing avalanche, unstoppable. Integrating stone’s solidity with light’s fleeting behaviour, Mattias Noren’s (Evergrey, Startovarius) artwork, like life itself, offers a permanent image with the feel of transience. After touring Europe with Naglfar and Kataklysm in 2004 and North America five times in 2005 (with Amorphis; Hate Eternal and Krisiun; Hammerfall and Edguy; Opeth and Nevermore; and Stratovarius), INTO ETERNITY have cultivated a solid fanbase with their intense live performance. Taking the strengths they’ve developed and moving forward, it’s time for “The Scattering Of Ashes”.
