Characterised by a masterful fusion of progressive metal, electronic experimentation and subtle pop sensibilities, British band Ihlo's sound is equal parts fascinating and intriguing. With their debut album Union, originally released in 2019, Ihlo asserted themselves as one of the scene's most exciting new prospects, earning themselves the support of several key figures in the Prog world as well as reaching #1 on Bandcamp's 'Progressive Metal' charts multiple times. Originally formed as a duo following a previous collaboration between vocalist Andy Robison and guitarist Phil Monro, Ihlo's final lineup was complete with the introduction of additional guitarist Rob Mair, Clark McMenemy on drums and Michael Roberts on bass. The quintet's debut album Union is a progressive expedition into myriad gorgeous sonic realms, deftly switching between passages of dream-like synth work and unrelenting, guttural chugging. Robison's layered lyrics are inspired by themes of surrealism, nature and transcendence, his remarkable vocals calling to mind the likes of Jeff Buckley and Cedric Bixler-Zavala. Now available on Kscope, this double vinyl LP edition of Union is presented on classic black vinyl with remastering by TesseracT's Acle Kahney and includes two bonus live recordings from ProgPower Europe 2023 on side D
