Guitar (michael Luckner) Sunkissed
The album Sunkissed by Michael Luckner's solo project Guitar, released in 2002 on Morr Music, became a landmark electro-shoegaze album, beloved by fans in Japan for many years. It features soft electro/dance beats, noisy guitar loops with feedback, intricate sequences, and the seductive, beautiful melodies of whispering vocals by Ayako Akashiba. The sound production is built with a collage-like approach, blending these elements into a hypnotic, immersive experience. The album is entirely hedonistic, embodying the ideal form of electro-shoegaze that My Bloody Valentine had already hinted at with their track "Soon." It pushes both shoegaze and electronica into new realms and has had a significant influence on the subsequent scenes. For this reissue, the album has been remastered under Michael Luckner's supervision. The symbolic and hedonistic masterpiece of the fusion of shoegaze and electronica in the 2000s, is being reissued on LP for the first time.
