Double vinyl LP pressing. 2006 release, the eighth studio album from progressive experimental rock from the Dutch legends. Home was the last album to feature lead singer and lyricist Anneke van Giersbergen. The release was produced, mixed and engineered by Attie Bauw, who was also at the helm during the How to Measure a Planet? recordings, and was recorded in a little church in Maurik, the Netherlands. The Gathering was founded in 1989 by brothers Hans and René Rutten and vocalist Bart Smits. The early incarnation of the band featured a much more death and doom metal-based style than the more atmospheric rock and experimental music they became known for over the years, having enjoyed a highly successful career globally over a 20-year period.
