Francis Plagne Rural Objects
Expanded vinyl edition of the 2019 tape/digital release. Francis Plagne's Rural Objects was recorded at home in suburban Melbourne while under the influence of John Ashbery's poem of the same name. Plagne sketches 14 landscapes, ranging from the bucolic to ethereal, using a wide variety of instruments (guitar, fretless bass, synths, keyboards, percussion, flute, bottle, plus a guest turn from Joe Talia on drums). Think Another Green World meets Get Up With It sprinkled with tape hiss. 300 copies on black vinyl. Full color sleeve and insert featuring charcoal sketches by the artist.
