Francesco Fabris Displaces (Green & Black Splatter)
Francesco Fabris's DISPLACES is the artist's most personal and conceptually focused work to date, shaped by ideas of mapping, displacement and scale. Drawing on cartographic thinking and the notion of hyperobjects, the album treats sound as a navigational tool-one that moves between the microscopic and the cosmic, the physical and the imagined. At it's core is the langspil, Iceland's only traditional instrument, extensively processed and reframed alongside manipulated field recordings captured across Iceland and the Venetian Prealps. Biophonies, geophonies and environmental remnants are folded into a shifting electroacoustic terrain, where familiar materials are relocated into unfamiliar states.
