Psych-soul collective Family Worship Center return with their second album, Only Visiting. After several years touring, recording, and eventually backing legendary songwriter Donnie Emerson, the band leans into sun-soaked 70s soft rock. Moving beyond the rootsier, Leon Russell-meets-The Band sound of their earlier work, they draw from the Mac, the Dan, Laurel Canyon, and AM Gold. Only Visiting is built on warm electric piano, rich vocal harmonies, and laid-back grooves, capturing a nostalgic yet timeless West Coast feel.
