Four years after the release of his 2021 original album 'ONE WORLD,' DJ Kawasaki returns with a brand-new track on 7' vinyl. Her cover of Roy Ayers' 'We Live in Brooklyn Baby,' included on her 2020 debut 'The Path,' garnered major attention. Here, her thrilling yet contemporary and ambient-tinged luxury performance elevates DJ Kawasaki's melody into a sophisticated, mature sound.Side B includes an exclusive version featuring steel pan player Tsuoshi 'TICO" Habu of LITTLE TEMPO, a band celebrated at festivals and live stages both in Japan and abroad. His profound and nuanced steel pan tones transform the jazzy, fusion-based original into a tropical, breezy summer boogie that evokes the Caribbean seas between Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago. The project is co-produced by Shuya Okino (KYOTO JAZZ MASSIVE / KYOTO JAZZ SEXTET), whom DJ Kawasaki cites as his mentor. The fresh, seasonally inspired artwork is designed by fellow DJ and collaborator Yusuke Yoshinaga (solla Inc.).The musicians contributing to the recording include:Rhodes: Arata NakamuraPercussion: Hidero Nishioka (CENTRAL / VenueVincent)Bass: Leo Nanjo (CENTRAL / tropico)Guitar: Tetta OdateDrums: Soki-Sosei Kimura (Osaka Monaurail)These longtime collaborators not only enrich the studio recording but also support DJ Kawasaki's live band style.Mixing and mastering were handled by DJ Kawasaki himself.
