Diamond Head is an influential British heavy metal band formed in 1976 in Stourbridge, England. They are considered one of the pioneering bands of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) movement, which also included bands like Iron Maiden, Saxon, and Def Leppard. Diamond Head is best known for their album Lightning to the Nations, which featured tracks that became classics of the genre. Some of their most famous songs include Am I Evil? Helpless, both featured on this album, were later covered by Metallica, helping to further cement Diamond Head's influence on the thrash metal scene. The band's sound is characterised by powerful riffs, melodic guitar solos, and a blend of hard rock and heavy metal elements.
