Dealing With Damage Use The Daylight
London punks Dealing With Damage kick against complacency on wonderful second album Use The Daylight. The four men who make up DWD have been involved in this country's punk scene for decades, but Use The Daylight might just be the best thing any of them have done. Their sound evokes both the classic Washington DC sound and the comparatively underrated strain of melodic UK hardcore that followed in the wake of U.S. bands like Husker Du and Dag Nasty. DWD have also gone to the effort to provide extensive notes about the origins of the songs, their recording and their meaning alongside the lyrics. FFO: Fugazi, Rites of Spring, Dinosaur Jr.
