Big Boss Man Das Freak
Big Boss Man have been fusing 60s R'n'B, Soul, Latin, Funk and Bongo-Hammond-Fuzz since '98. As well as playing hundreds of concerts and festivals across the UK, Europe and beyond, Big Boss Man's music may sound familiar to you, being regularly played on film and television, including Come Dine With Me, Strictly Come Dancing and I Used To Be Famous, and broadcast on BBC Radio, by presenters including Gideon Coe, Cerys Matthews and Craig Charles. Their track 'Party 7' was featured in the international NIKE WORLD FOOTBALL '06 CAMPAIGN advert featuring Thierry Henry and Eric Cantana. The entire soundtrack to The Mighty Boosh's BAFTA nominated short film Sweet was provided from tracks taken from the their 'Humanize' album. And their official remix of Modfather Paul Weller's single 'The Bottle' went straight in to the UK Top 20, and fast became a collector's item. The quartet's explosive live shows are legendary. They've been blasting stages since their earlier days in The Loafers, Skooby and Espadrille, amongst a few others. Live shows include Nasser Bouzida on Hammond/percussion, Trevor Harding on guitar, Badger Burgess on bass guitar and Desmond Rogers on drums. Big Boss Man have released four studio albums, and seven 7 singles, including last year's 'Do The Backstroke / Mother's Earth' twin-spin, and have appeared on countless compilations. 'Das Freak' is lifted from the forthcoming album, 'Bossin' Around', due out this March, this 7 single having a dedicated mix for the 45rpm grooves, livening up the hippest of discos and dance floors across the land. Big Boss Man continue to make what the people call 'proper' music.
