7seconds New Wind / Change In My Head
- Trust Records
- Alternative rock, Rock
Trust Records is honored to announce the reissue of 7 Seconds' "New Wind" in its original form, as well as "Change In My Head," which is a completely new take on the classic album with tracks remixed in their entirety by Ian MacKaye alongside Inner Ear Studios' Don Zientara. Restoring and reimagining the unreleased tracks "Change In My Head" and "Compro" from the original, 1985 Washington, DC, "New Wind" session, the bonus "Change In My Head" album is a fresh snapshot of 7 Seconds in transition, but still very much of a hardcore-punk band.

Emptyset Dissever
- Thrill Jockey
- Experimental
emptyset’s sixth album builds on their ongoing exploration into the histories of electronic sound and media across the 20th century, considering the intertwined evolution of cosmic rock, minimalism and electronic music, viewed through their prospective dreams and overlapping technological ambitions. The compositions across Dissever draw threads from these pioneering production methods emerging in parallel across the late 1960’s, considering the cross talk between these fields and their radical intentions to carve out the future from differing paths, traversing the mystical and modern, while incorporating elements of the transformative, hypnotic, expansive and transcendent to define new principles within sound.

Home Is Where Hunting Season
- Wax Bodega
- Rock, Country, Punk, Emo
Bea MacDonald wanted to write The Great American Song. Hunting Season, the third LP with her band Home Is Where, has 13 of these, each one detailing the dying thoughts of an Elvis impersonator consumed by fumes and flames in a car wreck. To be clear, these songs are not all sung from the perspective of the same dying Elvis impersonator, but from 13 different Elvis impersonators, all dying in a thirteen-car pileup. An unlucky number of imitation Elvises, each grasping at their final scraps of life as they all burn—stuck in separate cars, but together in wreckage and in death. What could be more American than that?

Marc Ribot Map of a Blue City
- New West Records
- Jazz
When she was a child and he a young father, Marc Ribot’s daughter drew a map of a city in deep, rich, vivid blue. When he praised her blue map, she corrected him: It's not a blue map, but a map of a blue city. That distinction stuck with him and eventually inspired a curious song called “Map of a Blue City.” Map of a Blue City ruminates on what it means to be lost—the confusion and fear, of course, but also the excitement of so many undreamt-of possibilities. Its history is an odd map of its own, full of false starts, blind alleys, dead ends, and one inconceivable tragedy, all leading to what may be his definitive statement as an instrumentalist, as a songwriter, and even as a singer. While it’s not a singer-songwriter album, it is his first to center his plaintive, wise voice quite so prominently. Map of a Blue City bears the weight of its history gracefully, incorporating recordings made over nearly half of Ribot’s life and reflecting on how he got to this particular moment. “Working on this album for so long, I’ve seen the world change dramatically and not really change at all. Some of the issues today are the same ones I thought about when I was just starting the album, but some are things I couldn’t have dreamt of at the time. But I think that’s why I was so determined to get the production values right. Recording production is really complicated, but it all boils down to what kind of room the listener feels they’re standing in. There are some hard truths and cold observations in these songs. I wanted the room to be small enough so that we couldn’t turn away: but warm enough to feel like you’re hearing it from a friend.”
